Who doesn't love brownies? Honestly? I have actually never been to impressed of the brownies I have tried over the years but I thought I'd try this recipe I found here. But to suit us and our family I changed it around a bit.
And It's actually pure luck I even have photos of these brownies. Ella-the dog, found them on the kitchen counter, after I took these, and snatched all but 1 piece out of the 8 I made. Gotta love her though, she is a lot of things but she ain't stupid, she will find food, where ever it is and where ever you've tried to hide it.
In this recipe there is almond butter and if you're like me you'll make your own, otherwise you buy a jar at the supermarket. If you deicide to make your own, you just throw almonds in the food processor and let it run for at least 20 minutes. Yep, thats right, twenty minutes. Thats how long it takes for the almonds to let go of the fat and the butter actually forms. You can help them along by pouring some macadamia oil in there, the time in the processor will be considerable shorter.
1 cup almond butter
50 mls macadamia oil
50 mls cocoa
50 mls natvia
1/2 tsp baking powder
a pinch vanilla powder
Mix everything, make sure there are no lumps, and pour in a silicone baking dish, sprinkle some sea salt on top, bake for 25 minutes in 175 degrees celsius, you want it to be runny and gooey in the middle.
